Adília Lopes (pseudonym of Maria José da Silva Viana Fidalgo de Oliveira) was born in 1960, in Lisbon. She lives in the house her mothers family has inhabited since 1916 Single, she lives with two cats: Ofélia (13 years old) and João Paulo (one year old). She attended a nun´s school and later, at University, in Lisbon, she graduated in Portuguese and French Literature and Linguistic (1983-1988). She also studied Physics, Chemistry and Maths, although she never concluded these studies. Adília won a bursary from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation (1989-1992). She got a specialisation in Documental Sciences (1992-1995) and worked on the assets from Fernando Pessoa, Vitorino Nemésio and José Blanc de Portugal and did some research with Prof. Ivo Castro. In 1999, she Adília Lopes won a bursary for Literary Creation of Instituto Português do Livro e das Bibliotecas. She was the author of the play “A birra da viva” , and she writes for the magazines Livros and Pública. She lives with financial support from her father.
